HOUSE OF THE BUKHARA MERCHANT (GAME. XIX BEGINNING OF THE 20TH V.V.)
The rich merchant house is located in a historical part of the old city, in the Quarter of Goziyon. The house belonged to Fayzulla Hodzhayev Ubaydullo's father of Hodge Kasym Hodzhayev – the millionaire merchant trading in astrakhan fur in Russia, Germany and other countries.

Fayzulla Hodzhayev's house is a fine example of the Bukhara inhabited architecture of the 19th century. The area of the house is 3 hectares and consists of three parts: economic, men's and female half. Ayvana, drawing rooms, premises are decorated with a magnificent carving and painting on a tree and alabaster. Premises consist from big guest — "mekhmonkhona", summer and winter rooms with the remarkable paintings executed by the Bukhara masters. The high wooden carved gallery "ayvan" is located over ceremonial rooms of the yard. In the restored rooms ancient furniture, interiors of living rooms, clothes, ware and other household items of the end of XIX-of the beginning of the 20th centuries is restored.
The few documents which remained after repressions, photos, books and other objects are placed in expositions of the devoted life and F. Hodzhayev's activity.
The exposition is devoted to the outstanding state and political figure of Uzbekistan, the native of Bukhara Fayzulle Hodzhayev (1896-1938). Having been born in family of the rich Bukhara millionaire merchant, Fayzulla Hodzhayev in 17 years adjoined the movement of Jadidism, participated in activity of mladobukharets. In 1920-1924 F. Hodzhayev headed the Bukhara people's Soviet Republic, and in 1925-1937 was the first Chairman of the board of National Commissioners of the Uzbek SSR, one of chairmen of the Central Election Commission of the USSR, the member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Uzbekistan.
In July, 1937 he was arrested also together with group of prominent revolutionaries and party workers (N.I. Bukharin, A. Ikramov, N.N. Krestinsky, A.I. Rykov, etc.) appeared on process in Moscow on the so-called right Trotskyist block. In March, 1938 it is shot.
Now in house museum several expositions are located: an ethnographic exposition "Life of the rich merchant of the XIX—XX centuries", the exposition devoted to life and activity of the outstanding political figure of the Uzbek state — Fayzulla Hodzhayev and an exposition "Kitchen of the house of the rich merchant".
One of economic parts of the house is occupied by an interesting exhibition: "Hours of the 19-20th century of century" on which samples of hours from a collection of the Bukhara memorial estate are presented. Among them there are well-known hour brands: "Pavel Bure", Mavzer, Becker. "L.H. Lodz", "M.P. Kalashnikov and son", "Winters" (game. XIX – the head of the 20th century of century) and also samples of watch of the well-known watch factories of Russia of the XX century: "Beacon", "Amber", "Glory". "Spark", "Beam", "Act". The exhibition attracts genuine interest of inhabitants and guests of Bukhara.

Household ware of the Russian factories of Gardner and Kuznetsov of the 19th century, the household ware made in Bukhara of copper and silver of the 19-20th centuries, east musical instruments of the 19th century, silk and velvet clothes of bukharets of the end of XIX-of the beginning of the 20th centuries.
Note visitors of the museum! Besides a fascinating excursion on halls and expositions of the museum, research associates of the museum offer the remarkable ethnographic program where visitors will be able to get acquainted with traditional ceremonies of bukharets: Gavorabandon — laying of the baby in a cradle, Sallabandon — a dedication ceremony in women and display of national Bukhara clothes of the 19-20th century of century.
