- one of the oldest markets of Tashkent and all Central Asia; the best-known market of Uzbekistan. This richest market, as if embodiment of legends of the Ancient East. It was of great importance in development of trade in the Great silk way. The name of the market is very symbolical and in translation means "four ways". Chorsu's market is brought in 1000 popular places of the world. Territorially it is located in the Old city in an environment of craft and masterful quarters. Once near the market one of the largest caravanserais accepting the Indian merchants settled down. 

The modern building was built in the 20th century and perfectly fits into the general architectural appearance of Tashkent. Around there are both medieval mosques, and madrasah, but the building of the Chorsu market is allocated on their background with an enormous dome of a blue shade.
Diameter of a dome is about 300-350 meters; inside there are three tiers connected by the elevator. The lowermost tier occupy, generally utility rooms, and top two are busy with counters with goods. The main range - vegetables, fruit, east spices and sweets, various grain. For the ware market there is a certain pavilion. In the market everything can be touched, tried, to check for freshness. Nearby there are ranks of public catering where tourists like to have green tea or to eat hot samosa.
Fans of the real Uzbek pilaf will also be satisfied. In a word, raciness of the market at the high level. Here it is possible to meet national handicraftsmen: the medical nickname which is drawing in detail beautiful ornaments on jugs, the smith forging directly on eyes original knives. Benches with national musical instruments are very interesting: domra, zurny, zangy, etc.
Having plunged into pleasant aromas of spices, many tourists will see off till several hours here. It is possible to reach before the market from any point of the city by buses or minibuses, but the best way is a subway to the Chorsu station.
