Мемориальный Музей Тамары Ханум

The memorial museum of Tamara Hanum — the house museum of the Soviet Uzbek dancer, singer, actress and choreographer Tamara Hanum created in 1994 on the basis of the exhibition of suits of the actress opened in 1986. The museum is located in the house in which there passed the last years of life of Tamara Hanum, in the center of Tashkent, near the metro station of Hamid Alimdzhan. 

History
Tamara Hanum is the reformer of performing style of the Uzbek women's dance, the researcher of song and dancing folklore, the creator of a genre of a song and dancing miniature. In its repertoire there were more than 500 songs in 86 languages, choreographic compositions, national dances of many people of the world.
The exhibition of suits of Tamara Hanum was open in 1986, at her life and on its base in 1994 the memorial museum of the actress was open.
The main part of an exposition of the museum is made by the numerous concert suits collected by Tamara Hanum on her tours, presented to it by admirers of her talent from around the world. In a collection of the museum there are exhibits presented to the actress by Mao Tse Tung and Jawaharlal Nehru, national suits of the people of Uzbekistan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Egypt, India, Korea, China, Lithuania, Indonesia and many other countries. According to the director of the museum, coming to other country, Tamara Hanum suggested to dance national dance of the people accepting it, in a traditional national suit and, thus, her collection grew and was replenished. A valuable exhibit of the museum is the suit which was earlier belonging to the wife of the Bukhara emir.
In the museum a large amount of the photographic materials which recorded moments from scenic life of the actress and also the documentary photos transferring the atmosphere of that time, numerous posters and concert programs from tour tours of the actress is collected. All photos are supplied with accompanying inscriptions in the Uzbek, Russian and English languages. Valuable exhibits of the museum are audio of record of songs performed by Tamara Hanum and also her manuscripts — the memoirs and poetic works which are not published during lifetime of the actress, extensive correspondence with the famous people of the time. The use objects relating to the beginning and the middle of the 20th century and also some artworks are of great interest. Interiors of rooms store that appearance which they had during lifetime of the actress.
In 2008 large-scale reconstruction of the museum on a fund of the Ambassador of the USA on preservation of cultural heritage was carried out. During reconstruction 75 scenic suits were restored, the collection of historical photographic materials is updated. It was written down several audio-excursions telling about life and Tamara Hanum's creativity. The staff of the museum also prepared for the edition the biography of the actress, is developed and the website of the museum is constantly updated.
In showroom of the museum also there pass fashion shows of national suits of the Uzbek designers.
