The native Rishtan Rustam Usmanov is master-ceramist in the first generation. It only of rishtans masters got professional art education. In 1980 he graduated from the Tashkent theatrical and art institute (office of industrial graphics). Then returned to Rishtan and closely was engaged in ceramics, Rishtan – Hakimdzhon Satarov and Ibrahim Kamilov studied at the best masters. In 1981-1988 and 1996-1997 was the art director at the Rishtan ceramic plant, having got general respect among colleagues from the creative shop.

Rustam Usmanov – "lips nakkosh" he skillfully owns painting art, various technologies of glass glazing. Studies heritage of old masters, materials of archaeological expeditions, recreates the lost ornaments. In his creativity knowledge of national traditions and high professionalism connected. The master possesses a delicate taste – its products are noted by special grace and classical completeness of compositions. Rustam Usmanov's products were exhibited at many countries of the world and are presented in many museum meetings.
R. Usmanov is the initiator of many undertakings. In 1997 he one of the first in Rishtan created the open museum workshop in which besides own products of the master the interesting collection of ancient ceramics Rishtana is presented in own house. Here all its close-knit family works, pupils, visit a workshop with pleasure the fans of ceramics coming to Rishtan.
From 1980th years R. Usmanov is the permanent participant of exhibitions in Uzbekistan and abroad. In 1994 there took place it the personal exhibition in Tashkent, in the Museum of arts and crafts of Uzbekistan. In 1996 – a creative trip to Japan. In 1997 Rustam is the participant of the World Fair of ceramics in Komatsu (Japan), EXPO-2000 in Hanover. In 2000-2005 – exhibitions in Alma-Ata, Kazan, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg. In 2004 the personal exhibition in Moscow organized with assistance of the Samarkand gallery "Alfiya" with which masters connect old creative contacts took place. In 2005 Usmanov was a participant of the exhibition meeting of the Afghan and Uzbek ceramists, which took place in the Center of the modern art of Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan which member he is since 1991. In 2005-2006 he participated in the international fair of crafts in Santa Fe (USA) twice.
Works by the master Rustam Usmanov are in collections of the State museum of arts of Uzbekistan, Directorate of art exhibitions of Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, the Fergana regional museum of local lore, Museum of arts and crafts of Uzbekistan, the State Hermitage and Museum of ethnography in St. Petersburg, the Museum of arts of the people of the East in Moscow, in the State museum of Fine Arts in Kazan and also in numerous private collections abroad.
