Sights Of Khiva
The legend of the founding of the city tells that the city grew around the Heyvak well, from which water had an amazing taste, and the well was dug by order of Shem, the son of the biblical Noah. In Ichan-Kala (the inner city of Khiva), today you can see this well. Ak-Mosque in Khiva (1838-1840) is located in ensemble at east gate Ichang-kaly. It is the monumental dome hall enclosed from three parties with a columned ayvan. The foundation was laid in 1657. The existing building as specifies an inscription on doors is built up in 1838-1842.
