Мавзолей Ишратхона

Ishratkhona (Ishrat Xona maqbarasi) — the architectural monument in Samarkand constructed at the time of Timurid Abu-Seida's government (1451 — 1469). The building, apparently, was the place of burial of representatives of a dynasty of timurid as at excavation of 1940 several women's burials were found. Now the building is in ruins, and the dome and a high drum were destroyed rather recently — during an earthquake of 1903.

History
The name of this complex is very unexpected for the mausoleum: Ishrat-hona means "The house of amusement". Presumably, such name was given for very rich architectural registration and internal art finishing. In the vakufny diploma of the building it is said that the notable woman of Habib-Sultan, the wife of the timuridsky Prince Sultan-Ahmed-Mirza, built the dome building over a grave of the sister-in-law, Princess Havend - the Sultan - biki, daughters of Abu-Sayeeda governing at that time.
Once the central building of Ishratkhona ensemble — a tomb with the high western portal — from South side was adjoined by arch and dome gallery with an additional entrance to the mausoleum. From the North the mosque was located, and in corners of the building vaulted rooms were located.
