The Tashkent television tower — the highest structure with the observation deck, open for visit, in Central Asia; it is a structure, the second for height, in Central Asia after a 420-meter chimney of Ekibastuz GRES-2, its height is 375 meters, it is a world television tower, the eleventh on height, and also freely standing world construction, the 38th on height (at the time of commissioning — the 9th in the world). The television tower was under construction within 6 years since 1978. It is brought into operation on January 15, 1985.

Operation of a tower
The main functional objectives of the Tashkent television tower are telecasting and broadcasting. Distribution of a signal it is provided on the territory of Tashkent and the Tashkent region, partially Syrdarya region and the southern regions of Kazakhstan. The television tower is used for implementation of communication by many ministries and departments, commercial organizations; the complex station of high-rise observations at the Uzbek hydrometeorological center is established.
Interesting facts
In the summer of 1986 for a delay of the Tashkent television tower the helicopter was hooked. The helicopter nearly crashed near a television tower.

INSTRUCTION FOR VISITORS

For visit of "Observation deck" and Koinot restaurant of the Tashkent television tower to visitors:
a) it is obligatory to have at itself the identity document (the passport, the driving license, the pension certificate or other);
b) it is necessary:
to issue in excursion service the individual application or at visit
The 2nd and more people - the collective application and also to get vkhodnyebileta;
to hand over hand luggage (bags, diplomats, ladies' handbags of the big sizes, etc.) in a left-luggage office of excursion service.

After execution of the application of the established sample for visit and acquisitions the biletovposetitel has to pass through the check point what it is necessary for:
to show the entrance ticket and the document in expanded form to the security guard at the check point;
to pass through threw the detector and personal inspection.

Visitors rise by "Observation deck" and in Koinot restaurant only accompanied by the guide or the employee of lift service.

Collective applications for visit of "Observation deck" and Koinot restaurant of the Tashkent television tower are made out in the following order:
at visit by group (family) execution of the application for one (responsible) representative of group (family member) on the document proving his identity is allowed;
when holding wedding celebrations, banquets and other festive events of the application are made out on one responsible person according to the document proving his identity.

Visitors can submit the preliminary application for visit of "Observation deck" and Koinot restaurant by phone, the telefax or e-mail.
Staff of the organizations can submit the application the letter, the confirmed seal of the organization and the signature of the head, with the indication of the list and passport data of members of collective.

It is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN visitors:
a) to enter service and technical premises of the Television tower;
b) to carry by on the territory of the Television tower:
weapon, explosive and flammable substances;
alcoholic drinks;
computers and laptops;
radio stations (except subscriber terminals of cellular communication);
suitcases, portfolios, man purses and also packages, parcels, shopping bags and other objects of the big sizes;
field-glasses and other optical devices;
audio and video equipment, photo and the video equipment and also carrying out a photo and video filming in the territory of the Television tower without the corresponding permission.

On visit of "Observation deck" and Koinot restaurant of the Tashkent television tower are not allowed:
Drunk persons;
Persons the documents which do not have at themselves confirming their personality;
Children of preschool age without adults;
